JCI Belgium

JCI Senate Belgium

What is JCI Senate Belgium?

JCI Senate Belgium brings together JCI Senators: members who have been awarded lifetime membership in recognition of their exceptional commitment and service to JCI.

Becoming a Senator is not an end point, it is rather a continuation. Senators remain connected to the movement, carrying its values forward and supporting new generations of leaders as they grow within JCI.

The role of the Senate is clear: to support, not to steer. Active JCI members remain fully in control of the organization. The Senate acts by the grace of those members, offering experience, continuity, and support where it is welcome and useful.

A supportive role, for life

As lifetime members, Senators:

  • Stand alongside active JCI members as mentors, advisors, and ambassadors
  • Support members in key moments, including first-timer grants that help young members travel abroad for international JCI events
  • Share perspective and guidance in challenging professional or personal moments
  • Help preserve the spirit, history, and values of JCI across generations
  • In everything it does, the Senate’s focus remains on empowering active members, not replacing them.

Belgian Senate Golf Association (BSGA)

The Belgian Senate Golf Association (BSGA) is one of the most tangible ways this intergenerational connection comes to life. Through golf days and informal gatherings, BSGA creates moments where:

  • JCI Senators, active members, past members, and even family members come together
  • New connections are formed and long-standing friendships continue
  • Experience meets fresh perspective — naturally, without hierarchy

Golf becomes a shared language. The fairway becomes a meeting place. And the JCI spirit of friendship, respect, and exchange is lived swing by swing, conversation by conversation. For BSGA, golf is not the goal – connection is. It is about creating relaxed, welcoming spaces where generations meet, stories are shared, and relationships grow beyond titles or timelines.

JCI Day: an annual tradition that brings everyone together

Each year around JCI Day (2nd Sunday of December), celebrating the founding of JCI, the JCI Senate Belgium keeps a cherished tradition alive in the heart of Brussels.

On this day, Manneken Pis is dressed in JCI attire, symbolizing both pride in our movement and continuity across generations. It is a small but meaningful moment that connects JCI’s global story with Belgian heritage.

The celebration continues with a cosy lunch in a nearby restaurant, bringing together Senators, members, and friends of JCI. It’s a relaxed year-end gathering, a chance to reconnect, reflect on the year behind us, and look ahead together.
