JCI Belgium, hereinafter referred to as “the non-profit organization” or “us”, is a non-profit organization registered with the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises under the number 0408.650.904, whose head office is established at 1020 BRUSSELS, Boulevard Emile Bockstael, 193. JCI Belgium is responsible for the processing of your personal data. The term “processing” encompasses all types of transactions relating to such data, such as their collection, registration, use or retention. We always handle this personal data with the utmost care. It is important to know that we have never sold your data to third parties in the past and we never will.

1. Which data do we collect?

We collect your details such as your first name, your name, your age and / or your date of birth, your telephone number, your e-mail address, your address, your postal code, your city, possibly your profession and your VAT number, your status within JCI Belgium (observer, candidate-member, member, board member, supporter, senator, alumni, external), history of your JCI activities and roles, and your award history.

We may also collect data about you when you use our websites, social networks, when you reply to us by e-mail, via cookies, navigation data and other technologies. With regard to business customers, suppliers or companies with whom we can establish / establish a collaborative relationship, we collect, in addition to the above mentioned data, business data such as VAT number or company number, the contact details of the legal entity’s contact persons (name, position, telephone number, etc.) as well as the data of the associates and / or partners of the company.

2. Why do we collect this data?

JCI Belgium processes your personal data to ensure its proper functioning, and to offer you quality communication.

More concretely, we process your data:
• to contact you, to invite you to trainings, activities and to inform you of our events;
• to execute correctly the possible contracts concluded with you (we can, for example, send you a digital invoice to the right address) ;
• to improve our services;
• to comply with our legal obligations;
• to compile statistics and perform tests;

If you do not wish to receive our newsletters or information about our products and services, you can unsubscribe at any time without having to justify your decision. Just send us an e-mail, indicate it in your personal settings or make a request to one of our members. You can also click on the unsubscribe link in our advertising emails, at any time, and at no cost.

3. Database Management

All personal data is managed by the JCI Belgium Board of Directors.

Access to this data is only provided to the people of the association who need it for the execution of their tasks.

4. Transmission to third parties

We never sell or rent your data to companies.

However, we will be able to submit your data to the JCI network (JCI.cc, JCI BWB, JCI Vlaanderen, JCI Senate, JCI Foundation, JCI Sense, EdF/TIF ) to confirm your status and allow you to access information from our network. We treat your data as confidential information.

In addition, as part of the potential outsourcing of certain tasks, JCI Belgium may transmit data to carefully selected third parties that process certain data upon request. For this purpose, JCI Belgium would only use service providers which, in its view, offer sufficient guarantees for the protection of this data. These third parties undertake to preserve its confidential nature.

If JCI Belgium uses third-party providers, some data may be stored in a country outside the European Economic Area (EEA). If the European Commission has recognized that this country has an acceptable level of protection of personal data, we would be allowed to transmit them.

5. How to check, correct or delete your data?

When you contact us, we record certain data. You therefore have various rights relating to your data.

For example, you have the right to access, correct and delete your data. To exercise this right, you must send us a clear request, in which you specifically mention what you wish to see, correct or delete. This application must be signed, dated and accompanied by a copy of the front of your identity card.

If you want us to delete your data, you must also specifically motivate your request.

If these conditions are met, except if the processing of these data is essential to the fulfillment of a legal obligation or of our contractual obligations, we will validate your request as soon as possible and will inform you.

In case of disagreement, you can still file a complaint with the Belgian authorities on data protection or bring an action before the competent courts.
